Zhenjie Yan will join the Department of Physics as an Assistant Professor in January 2026. His research explores ultracold neutral atoms and cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) systems, and their applications in quantum information science and quantum simulation. In particular, the Yan group is interested in developing experiment platforms to investigate feedback control and error correction in quantum many-body systems and digital quantum computers, as well as exploring error mitigation through destructive interference in decay channels. Beyond laboratory experiments, Dr. Yan is also interested in exploring quantum applications on commercially available quantum computing platforms.
