Luca Comisso is an associate research scientist in the Department of Astronomy and the Columbia Astrophysics Laboratory at Columbia University. Prior to moving to Columbia University, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Astrophysical Sciences of Princeton University and a long-term visitor in the Theory Department of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He received a Ph.D. in plasma physics from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy). His research has explored various frontier topics in high energy astrophysics and plasma physics, including particle acceleration, magnetic reconnection, plasma turbulence, and relativistic plasmas around black holes.
