High-Energy Nuclear/Particle Physics, Brian Cole, Chien-Shiung Wu Scholarship Recipient

I earned my undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I researched the performance of the sPHENIX Electromagnetic Calorimeter at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) with the Experimental Nuclear Physics Group. I am now pursuing a Ph.D. in high-energy experimental nuclear physics with a focus on quantum chromodynamics (QCD). More specifically, I am interested in the fundamental state and hydrodynamic evolution of the quark gluon plasma (QGP), which is an extremely hot and dense state of matter produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.
