Originally from Jamaica, I hold a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Howard University in Washington, DC. My research focuses on understanding the fundamental mechanisms by which biological materials acquire their mechanical properties, integrating theoretical frameworks, quantitative modeling, and experimental techniques such as atomic force microscopy. My current work investigates the hygroscopic behavior of bacterial spores and cellulose.
