"Dark Matter Detection Beyond WIMPs"

Talk Abstract: Dark matter makes up most of the mass in the universe, yet its nature is unknown. This talk will describe dark matter direct detection in experiments employing liquid argon targets, with an emphasis on recent results in searches for dark matter candidates beyond the Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) paradigm. I will discuss the development of novel silicon photodetector technology to search for dark matter in the DarkSide-20k experiment, and prospects for further development of this technology towards the future.
