The Herbert and Florence Irving Institute for Cancer Dynamics will continue its seminar series on the topic of mathematical sciences underpinning cancer research. The monthly seminars take place on the second Wednesday of the month, 2:00-3:00 PM EST. The presentations are open to the Columbia community (in person and online) and to researchers outside Columbia (via Zoom).

Bio: Dr. Jun Allard is a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics and Astronomy at University of California Irvine. Cells are nanometer-scale problem solving machines. The broad goal of the lab is to understand how cells use force, space and time to perform tasks and exploit problem solving strategies. We use mathematical and computational modeling, in collaboration with experimentalists at UC Irvine and around the world.
