I earned my undergraduate degree in physics and applied mathematics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I worked with the ATLAS group and became interested in experimental particle physics. My research focused on how assumptions about the Higgs boson’s total width affect measurements of its couplings to other particles. This work formed the basis of my honors thesis. I also spent a summer at the University of Notre Dame working with the CMS group on photon reconstruction in Higgs decays.
I’m especially interested in using machine learning and advanced statistical methods to extract more information from particle physics data and search for hints of what might lie beyond our current understanding.
I was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I love playing guitar, finding new music, and making way too many playlists. I’m also always up for a good film or book, and I enjoy playing tennis and ballroom dancing whenever I get the chance.
