Research Interest

Becky graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College with a BA in Astrophysics and earned her PhD in Physics from Columbia University, where she studied black hole orbital dynamics. During graduate school, Becky received a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship as well as the Columbia University Presidential Teaching Award.

Over the past decade, Becky built a successful private tutoring company based in New York City, helping students from high school through advanced undergraduate excel in quantitative courses and designing math & physics curricula. She was a contributing editor for a widely used university-level physics textbook (Ohanian & Markert) and has taught physics at Cooper Union, Barnard College and Columbia University.

Becky's current focus is on incorporating modern evidence-based pedagogy into undergraduate physics and lab instruction.
