Stan DeLaurentiis, current student at Columbia College, has been named a 2023 Gates Cambridge Scholar for his work in astrophysics!
Next fall, Stan will be pursuing a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and theoretical physics at the University of Cambridge, focusing on proposing alternative pathways to black hole mergers. Additionally, DeLaurentiis hopes to bridge relationships between international communities to continue advancing scientific efforts and expand access to mathematical and scientific areas of study. His work focuses on looking at how black holes move and grow over cosmic time.
