I am interested in theoretical and computational astrophysics. My previous work used 3-D vortex–lattice simulations to study superfluid vortex dynamics in the neutron star inner crust. These simulations showed how lattice shear and vortex interactions can trigger large-scale vortex unpinning, providing a possible mechanism for neutron star glitches.
I am currently working on several related topics, including:
- Vortex stretching and turbulence in the neutron star inner crust
- Global superfluid dynamics and glitch mechanisms in neutron stars
- 3-D radiation-GRMHD simulations of Bondi accretion onto black holes
- Bondi–Hoyle–Lyttleton and wind accretion onto black holes
